Autogas Propane has been a client of Tsunami Communications for almost five years. One of BC's largest propane
distributors, Autogas had grown to a point where they needed more IT support than their internal resources were
providing, yet did not want to commit to a full-time senior IT position, as the workload would not be steady.
They had been dealing with several service providers for various aspects of their IT needs.
Tsunami started by providing an in-depth analysis of their existing infrastructure, and laid out a plan
to stabilize the environment and resolve certain outstanding issues. This allowed Autogas to delay
replacing several key servers until the following fiscal year. The cost was reasonable, and Tsunami was
able to convey the central concepts to a non-technical management group. As the stability and reliability
of the infrastructure improved, Autogas was able put more trust in the recommendations Tsunami made.
Over time, Tsunami has been able to implement the replacement of those servers, and help Autogas transition
to a hardware lifecycle. This concept allows for realistic IT budgeting while it reduces downtime and support
costs. Since Tsunami does not sell hardware or software directly, we are able to assist in the purchase and
lease decisions, acting as an advocate for Autogas.
Tsunami has also been instrumental in defining IT roles and responsibilities within Autogas, as well as writing
job descriptions, and assisting in the selection of IT-related job candidates.

A previous service provider had implemented an email solution that was no longer meeting Autogas' needs. Tsunami
was able to provide email hosting with groupware functionality at a reasonable cost.
In order to reduce IT costs and guarantee service levels, Tsunami provides a support contract to Autogas for Senior
and Intermediate IT resources. Tsunami supported Autogas through the hiring of a new employee to handle the daily IT needs
of the business and assisted with training until the employee was prepared to handle the full responsibility.

Tsunami has established a trusting, long-term relationship with Autogas, to the benefit of both firms. Autogas gains from
having Senior IT management resources at its disposal, without the expense and difficulty of hiring employees to fill their
needs. Tsunami enjoys having a stable client, whose growth in the future will help Tsunami grow as well.
